As we already mentioned, the first first skylarks were observed exactly at the day of the National Lark Festival Day (February 24). While the Lapwing – a some days earlier (National Lapwing Day – February 27), The rooks on the National Rook Day (March 4) were seen already on the nests in some areas of the country.
White storks arrived much earlier than National White Stork Festival Day (March 25) this year: the first birds were seen on the 12th of March in the meadows of Panevezys and Silute districts. By the date of 25th March, White storks were registered in whole territory of Lithuania, while on the 21th March, the first birds observed in the nest already (Taurage district). It is interesting to mention that the first registration of the species in Latvia was also on the 12th March.
